Description

For the Berlin headquarters of the internationally operating company in the Berlin Beisheim Center at Potsdamer Platz, a transparent and comfortable spatial structure was created in two construction phases, which despite its communication-promoting effect also allows for discreet work. The offices are generously designed and connected by sliding doors, enabling the enlargement of spaces and supporting team formations. Floor-to-ceiling glass elements in the office partition walls and corridor walls allow for wide views while also providing daylight to the interior corridor zones. Furthermore, the created lines of sight promote communication flow among employees.

During my time with Dewinder, I developed a series of design proposals for offices, meeting rooms, common spaces, and circulation areas. These designs incorporated a colorful palette aimed at creating a cozy and homely atmosphere for the workers during their breaks and other downtime. The central zones of the two floors in the Berlin headquarters serve as communal areas and are equipped with multifunctional furniture that serves as seating as well as a copy and fax station. An internal staircase connects the floors, opening up to a daylight-flooded lounge area. The staircase is designed as a barrier element and can also be used as a central bar and lounge furniture during events. The color concept is limited to a bold dark red hue, which, in combination with dark smoked oak and beige carpet as well as colored light coves on the suspended ceiling of the corridor zones, contrasts with the otherwise white surfaces.
