Stralsund is situated on the southern coast of the Strelasund, a sound in the Baltic Sea that separates the island of Rügen from the mainland.
Architectural and Urban ConceptsSituated directly on the coast of Stralsund, the music hall possesses significant potential to strengthen the connection between the arts, humanity, and nature. The design proposal for the project is intricately influenced by its strategic coastal location.
The building's primary structure is inspired by the urban layout of the coastline, evolving into a landscape of urban interaction. Various zones, including the main entrance, foyer, music hall, exhibition hall, restaurant, congress hall, rehearsal rooms, library, and roof terrace, are defined within the architectural plan.
At the heart of the building lies the main performance hall, surrounded by other functional zones that collectively shape the building's architectural form. Drawing inspiration from Roman theaters, the MusicHouse's distinctive characteristic allows the audience to experience performances in both the open-air area and the enclosed main hall.
